    This course is designed for locals who are new to the process of filing a grievance or have not gone through the process in a long time. The course provides and overview of the process from the writing of the grievance through mediation and into arbitration if necessary.

  • Fostering Labor & Legislative Relationships

    This course is designed for labor representatives who are either new to engaging with local legislators or are looking for either a new or refined approach to engaging with hthem. The lecture will discuss the different levels of legislators, understanding legislative districts and the best approach to contacting and building a rapport with legislators in the districts you represent.

  • Officers Rights Update
    June 5, 2024 - 10:00 am, Woodbridge

    This course will be an overview into ever evolving legislation and policies concerning officer’s rights. The course is a supplement to the Officer’s Rights portion of the collective bargaining seminar in February and discusses updates and changes as well as standing policies that officers should know to best protect themselves. 

     

    This course is administered by attorneys from the NJSPBA LPP Plan.

  • Basics of Fundraising

    This course offers an introductory look at fundraising for locals. The course is geared for locals new to fundraising beyond local dues deductions, or for locals looking to take fundraising in a new direction.

  • Executive Board Cross Training

    This course provides an overview into the local executive boards and the individual responsibility and duties of each executive board position. This course is geared to make the local e-board a more cohesive, working unit.

  • Book Keepers Training
    July 10, 2024 - 10:00 am, Woodbridge

    This course gives an overview into proper books keeping and records management for local and county conference book keepers/treasurers/financial secretaries. Presidents are also encouraged to attend to update their knowledge of required documentation and procedures their organization is responsible to follow.

  • Intro to Quick Books
    July 10, 2024 - 1:00 pm, Woodbridge

    This course gives an overview into the utilization of Quick Books for financial record  keeping for locals and county conferences.

    This course is administered by staff from PKF O’Connor Davies.

    Attendees should come prepared with a laptop or tablet with the Quick Books program installed on it.
